We start off with some agua con gas...and bread and chimichurri... Argentina is changing ... with new super undervalued currency... an increase in violent crime especially in the city of Rosario Santa Fe... a Dictatorship seems looming with Milei's new presidency...and callous politics...economic crashes pending ...weak govt policies approving banned pesticides from USA and exiled in Europe now in Argentina'a food supply...makes me wonder if their grass fed beef will be affected... Not to worry... We have Carlitos Gardel Argentine Steakhouse to transport us to what Argentina once was... And still IS some would say...at least here anyway... Here's hoping! We started off with some delicious beef empanadas... fried ... not sure if they have a baked option... Then some achuras that came with the parrillada... the mollejas were juicy and tender and absolutely perfect with some crunchiness here and there... the morcilla paired well with some fresh bread and chimichurri sauce and the chorizos tasted classically Pancho! The skirt steak and short cut ribs stole the show because that's what Argentina does best... the meats... some limón over the bbq grilled mollejas... yea that makes it better...so much better... the Mollejas; Steaks; and Ribs were all grilled to perfection... not a dry note in the house... The fries disappeared in seconds... Then for dessert ... Dulce de leche con flan and a perfectly made cappuccino to finish me off... My date was satiated...she'll stop hunting for small animals for at least a few more weeks...but her hunger pangs have been hard to ignore...at least for now.....if at least for a few more days...these meats will buy us more time...lol My belly rejoiced with my nostalgia...for everything that makes Argentina legendary... I sit back in my chair and think about everything I said about Argentina...thinking about the three stars and how we're ready for a fourth! With Di Maria retiring I'm thinking Julian Alvarez will do as a new replacement... There's good with the bad...and bad with the good... in the end I pray that Argentina pulls through and gets their home issues in order ...there's a lot to chew on there right about now... But any nostalgia has now disappeared... I'm home again...3000 miles from home...we love LA... Not to mention the service here was superb... with over five different servers tending to our table ... we were never left needing or wanting a thing... I think we dropped a fork and there was someone there in seconds to replace it... This is what Argentina is supposed to feel like... Perfection And it is...at least HERE ...in Los Angeles... Right here on Melrose... At least ...for the time being...

I love this restaurant! It's exactly how I expect an Argentinian restaurant to be classy, high quality and flavorful. I had such an awful experience in San Diego at a so called Argentinian steakhouse that I had to come and review this establishment. It's so delicious and hospitable that it sets a high standard in comparison to other sub par restaurants. Thanks Carlitos Gardel for reminding me of Argentina in every bite is a bit of nostalgia.

Well-deserving of a Michelin star. Food: I got steak, my wife got the off-menu lamb. We both opted for the garlic fries as well. My steak was extremely seasoned and I was obsessed with the chimichurri sauce that paired with it. Lamb was a bit under-whelming but still well seasoned. Garlic fries got a little boring after a while but still good nonetheless. Everything was a bit oily for our tastes. Service: Service was amazing. Very attentive servers. My only experience that I didn't like was that our reservation was sent to their backlot where there was a lot of flies. Wish we got seated inside. Overall, I don't know if I'll ever be back, but the restaurant is definitely good for a date night.

I will be returning ! Loved loved loved ! Drove from Fresno to try this delicious place . Excellent service , and very clean establishment , it was a smaller and more intimate environment which I can appreciate . 10/10. I will return !

First time here. For sure a repeat visit . The staff was terrific and the atmosphere was relaxing, no pressure. Perfect place for special occasions. Pricey but worth it. Tapa de Ojo was incredible. Perfectly cooked The Enteana skirt streak was also excellent.

My Ribeye Cap was juicy medium rare with delicious pieces of fat and beautifully cut and placed on a nice wooden board; a bit on the salty side but that's because I wasnt drinking anything with it. The chimicurri sauce that comes with the ribeye cap was fresh and ok but did not use it with my steak Creamed Spinach was nice Free Bread was similar to a cheap hot dog bun Excellent friendly genuinely nice service. I was very underdressed and came alone but treated so kindly Street parking was easy at 9pm weekday

Had a great time last night enjoying some authentic Michelin-guide Argentinian food! Such a wonderful experience.

Seems like a family restaurant with reservations, we walked In and they were nice enough to seat us, around the alley in a nice back patio. The staff was very inviting, and friendly, the server was very helpful in explaining things to us. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were very tasty. Would definitely recommend and come back

Amazing food and service! Made the night special. Fair warning though they are super expensive. Our meal was $300 for two, with no alcohol ordered, and still water (1 big bottle between us) was $12. Came for an early Valentine's Day. We did street parking but there was a valet up front. Service was really great and attentive, and they guided us and gave us recommendations. They were thoughtful about when to bring out certain dishes to complement each other. It did start to get busy as more people came in. People mostly come to share food. There's small tables for groups up to about 6. Food (* = must order!) - bread and chimichurri - yummy! - Caesar salad - split between 2 people was plenty. Each wedge had a piece of anchovies in it. Good - * champiñones rellenos - so good!! The truffle butter cream was rich and delicious. We enjoyed dipping our bread in - creamed corn - it was bigger than I thought it would be. Tasted okay and we were honestly getting too full - * papas fritas provenzal - they said these fries put them on the map. They were really good! And it was a huge plate for 2 people - * tapa de ojo/ ribeye cap (12 oz) - they said it was exclusive to their restaurant. It was yummy! - * entraña/ skirt steak (8 oz) - this was our favorite! It was just a bit too much food for 2 people. We packed most of the creamed corn and fries to go but finished the rest. A great experience overall!
